Field Trip to History Colorado Center

Last Friday, I got a fabulous field trip to the History Colorado Center with my classmates. It locates at downtown, which my favorite place in Denver. After we got there, a time mechine caught our heart. When you push the rod, the mechine will tell you an amazing story about Colorado. We chose one story about Colorado's air academy, and knew in 1959, there were frist graduates became the pilots, that was really interesting. Then, I started my exploration with my partner.
We visited several exhibition rooms, learned about the history of native Indians, lifestyle of people lived here years ago, also listened to the former presidents's voices, and the thing I most interested in-the history about Colorado skiing. Here are some pictures I took:

From the brief introduction I know that, skiing wasn't a sport in those days, it was just a form of transportation way for mountain residents to get from place to place, and you can see how cumbersome the boots. But now, it has become a popular sports all of the world, and a lot of people are willing to put plenty of money on this adventurous sports. So, skiing would be the first thing on my list to spend my vacation.
In conclusion, it was a great experiment in the center, I learned a lot what I didn't read in books, I am already looking forward to the next time.

  1. Thanks for your post! I'm glad you enjoyed the trip so much. The time machine seemed to be quite popular this time around and I agree it's a neat way to learn about history. I hope you get a chance to try skiing while you're here, just be careful not to break anything though! :) Thanks!
